What Really Causes Cystic Acne

The causes of cystic acne are much like any other type, but the symptoms are quite different. This form of acne appears as deep infections that are cyst-like and can be quite painful.

Cystic acne causes a lot of emotional distress and severe cases of cystic acne can be physically unpleasant as well. It can cause pain, recurrent bleeding and sometimes an unpleasant and foul smelling discharge. Though it is rare, but in some severe to severe cases, a cystic acne sufferer may develop a severe toxic condition that requires treatment in a hospital.

The causes of cystic acne often include a hormonal imbalance, increased stress, oily skin, using certain oil based products on the face and/or a family history of acne. Many believe that improper hygiene is one of the leading causes of cystic acne.

Stress can be a cause of cystic acne. Suppose you are worrying too much about your normal acne, the related stress can increase the production of androgens which in turn can increase the production of oil in the skin. The oil, bacteria and pieces of hair may affect the nearby areas of tissue. If it takes place deep below the surface of the skin, cysts may appear.

One of the least recognized, but extremely accurate causes of cystic acne remains to be that of heredity. If acne was problematic to either one or both of your parents, or if there is a family history of acne presence, you may be more likely to battle with the same problem.

Another cause of cystic acne is diet. Though it is debatable whether food is a cause of acne or not, some researchers believe that certain foods cause inflammation.

If cystic acne is not treated properly, it can leave painful and ugly scarring on your face. If you notice the development of cystic acne, the most important thing to do is to avoid touching the problem area. Not only can this be painful to the touch, but you do not want to break the skin as this may lead to possible scarring or infection.

Cystic acne treatment means not using heavy makeup and moisturizers around the affected area. The chemical-based makeup is only going to aggravate an already severe problem. Additionally, continuous exfoliation of the skin can reduce the collection of dead skin cells in that area, however make sure that you take care when scrubbing infected areas of the skin. It is best to wash with warm water and a gentle antiseptic soap specially formulated for acne.

Natural acne treatment will likely be your best route. Wash your infected areas with the following mixture of ingredients: one teaspoon of buttermilk, turmeric in two parts white gram flour, and honey.

@atlantidaorca Actually, despite every precaution, this remains a very potentially dangerous drug. I am not saying that everyone who in on Accutane has a health calamity, but the risks almost always outweigh the benefits.
Please understand, just because you are in a doctor’s care and a drug is FDA approved does not mean you are in the clear. I actually work for the FDA, so believe me when I say we approve drugs that should not be approved and vice versa. It’s so much about politics.

  9. atlantidaorca says:

@raspberrypineapple It is not if you are completelly healthy and you do an intense follow up by a doctor while to take it. I had blood tests every 2 weeks to check if everything was ok, and no problem. If it was that horrible, it would be forbidden to prescript, and it’s not. I know lots of people who had it under a dermatologist supervision and all fine.

@shwetasarawgi82 While it’s always hard to pinpoint anything from a YouTube comment, I think you might find the following DermTV episodes helpful: Acne 101, Syringomas, Acne Treatment in Three Easy Steps, and How to Treat Cystic Acne. Hope at least one of those address your questions. (I would post links but YouTube doesn’t allow me to. Just search for “DermTV” and each title in the search box and they should come up.)

@bohogirl1 i believe they (stress and dirt) do contribute for acne breakouts, but with a good cleasing routine, you can the fight the dirt easily, but the stress is quite a difficult one. i used to have much more breakouts when i was at uni and driving everyday. unfortunately i still have my hormonal background and i’m in constant treatment against my acne and scars. sometimes it’s frustrating! but we got fight them lol. have a great day! x

@vikmit1 ^.^ Yes well us social rejects have to stick together somehow even if it is through declarations of revenge on youtube. But Im glad that you have a positive outlook on it because I sure as hell didn’t. Go forth and prosper, grasshopper…or…well, I always preferred ants over grasshoppers. Less freaky looking. ANYWAY I digress.

  36. vikmit1 says:

@angelisoncrack …im going to have my revenge…the ones that joked around me and fucked about it at school…il have my revenge, theyl get their breakout and see how does it feel on the other side… :)

  38. angelisoncrack says:

@vikmit1 I wrote that comment five months ago and everything got better. Let me tell you, sweetie, that I left my room and got a job that I LOVE. Lol To other people that sounds silly but to me it was one of the biggest steps I ever took. Yes, it’s hard and you may be sick of people telling you to be brave but if a person can only see your face and not the personality that is beneath it well then that person isn’t worth being around. Stay strong and kick acne’s ass ^.^

  39. vikmit1 says:
