I liked this video (and song) and I’m sure you’ve definitely a valid point in US TV roles going to lighter skinned actors. In the UK, the BBC is very careful to portray black and muslim families in all their flagships shows and soaps, but sometimes I think it’s insincere, purely because the BBC is funded by the people paying a $200 annual licence/ tax. I rarely see Far East Asian ethnic parts and it’s also v.elitist by being dominated by Oxford/ Cambridge Uni grads. (FYI, I’m a white male, UK)
