Let us begin with some of the good things that African men have to offer then move on to what pleases them as you look to date them. An African man is a very peaceful person and this is mainly the case until they have a reason for getting mad. In other words, the men seek to deal with issues as they come and they will deal with all issues in a manner they deem right. This is a great strength because when it comes to relationships, problems need to be confronted and not swept under the carpet.

You must know clearly what your role in the relationship is. You are not the head and you should give the man an opportunity to be the man. African men will go for people who are humble and gentle in all senses. There is something about a down to earth partner that excites them. When you are down to earth, it does not mean that you will be oppressed. To the contrary, the man will seek to protect you and build you up. As a woman, you must have the element of hard work. This is a value that will help you create a good image for the man. You must be sincere and honest. The modern African man is still looking for girls who are both modern and at the same time can cook great traditional meals.

When you build your relationships on strong blocks like love, commitment and trust, you will definitely see that you will take your union to another level. As you date, have fun and enjoy yourself; this is what dating is all about.

Why do some black men grow their fingernails long?
‘cuz they pimps!!!!!So they can poke into them pineapples…If anyone of any race grows only their pinky nail long, then it is usually for cocaine or slicing blunts.its the same reason white people keap there pinky long. FOR DRUGS!!! its not just black people all the pot heads at my work do it and they are all white plus my uncle and a few white guys in my classes. ive actualy never seen a black guy with a long pinky nailcoke and weed baby.i wonderOnly black thugs and black pimps grow their fingernails long. I guess they think it’s sexy.

@hellokittycutie2003 (: I’m glad we were both able to explain our different views respectfully! Because at the end of the day all black is beautiful regaurdless. Btw I’m natural again lol and it is a beautiful thing.(:

@ari66889922 I can respect that, from a natural sista to a relaxed sista. Natural is beautiful, and it’s amazing to see so many black women, young and old embracing that. But I hate to see natural women skew facts about natural hair in order to gain “members.” Natural hair is time consuming, point blank. I love my hair, but I’m not gonna front like relaxed hair wasn’t a lot more convenient on a day to day basis, especially when comparing natural vs relaxed styling. Can’t stand Natural Nazi’s.

@sheacocoaluv “this is a serious issue and if much bigger than just u..this is about self hate and black on black racism..health” – True.

@MrCooldude007 Are you a male? Since when do YOU sit down and get perms? It’s a woman’s choice. If she wants to be lazy..get perms..if she wants to be Proactive about herself and her culture…GO NATURAL! STOP BEING NEGATIVE!!

  13. itsmecassiej says:

My Jamaican hispanic boyfriend’s church doesn’t allow relaxed hair. If it was two years ago I would have objected and would not have gone. My problem is I wouldnt mind him seeing me with my natural curls, but I dont think im ready for him to see me with an afro and try to run his fingers through my kinky hair lol. Im feel so bad, i guess i have a long way to go,

  14. Jazziibabii2011 says:

Having a weave doesnt make u fake nor does relaxing ! i have went natural 2 different times before , but its just not for me. Relaxing and weaves ARE WAYYY easier and more managable. just sayin

  18. cobeany says:

Thanks!! I appreciate you posting this and giving ur own feedback. I haven’t relaxed my hair for over 15 years and spent a lot of those years with my hair covered…In recent times I’ve gotten negative feedback from the “man” in my life when I wear my hair out but more and more I care less and less about what he or anybody thinks…I’m enjoying my HAIR! ;-)

  19. shyshybaby08 says:

  20. mindofdreams66 says:

    Intelligent men!!

  21. fightingfordestiny says:

I LOVE this vid! I’m transitioning. I haven’t had a perm in 6 months & I love it!! I do wish that more black men loved natural hair, as well as black women. I don’t dislike women who relax. I know u CAN have long, healthy relaxed hair cuz I did. It was half way down my back & flawless!! But I hated it after a while & needed a change. I cut it & now I wear braids. Though I don’t agree with relaxing, I don’t see it as self-hate for everyone. Just do what makes u happy, love God, & love life!

  22. mizzbenz007 says:

Ok so the guys are from TSU i got to U of H like 5 minutes away, does he know of any poetry spots near by???

  23. amberrose1st says:

@keythema You’re supposed to do all those things to your hair, natural or not. I know, my mother has very long relaxed hair because she does all those things to her hair,

  24. keythema says:

@MrCooldude0007 WHAT! sweetheart its a lot easier to sit in a chair and put in an 18 minute relaxer and then get up and wrap your hair for another six weeks and then sit back in your chair then it is to wash and detangle, moisturize EVERYDAY, style EVERYDAY, deep condition, hot oil treatments, make your products, regular condtioners, co-washes, protective styles, and accessorize properly not to mention putting up with ignorance mirrored by statements like yours.
