I know that a lot of races of color have “light skin vs dark skin” but really if you think about it we’re all dark in comparison to people with pale/fair skin. We’re various shades of dark skin. PLEASE COMMENT AND RATE!
Black Skin Care Products: are They Different Than White Skin Products?
There are both specific white and black skin care products when there isn’t any need for them. We all have the same type of skin, we produce the same natural oils, and we face the same basic skin care problems. Products that work for one person will be just as effective for the next.
Skin is Skin
People simply need to understand that as organisms we are all the same. We all have the same biology, and the same cellular structure, so why would we need to use different products for our skin. That is just a cosmetics company’s marketing department trying to draw the sale.
Beware of Marketing Schemes
Despite all of that black skin care products continue to sell, which is okay by me. The only thing that troubles me is that these products contain the same sort of ingredients that are found in products that don’t work. What that means is that these products are going to do absolutely nothing for you, except make your purse lighter.
Of course, your goal is not to waste your money on something that doesn’t work right? Well since we’ve already established that all of our skin is the same, maybe I can be of some help in this area. Perhaps I can act as your guide and lead you to a line of skin care products that will work for all of us.

@chilvari I so agree i see beauty in all women of color including other cultures i.e: India, spanish speaking countries,arab countries, african countries I could go on and on. I love for one day we can all embrace the beauty of women of color and celebrated I see beauty in all.
I am attracted to dark skin women. A light skin woman does not make the cut for me, and I agree with chilvari. I am strongly against skin whitening. Despite what society says, I think olive skin Asian women are beautiful.

And it’s a shame there seems to be alot more light skinned Black celebrities in this country than dark skin. Dark skin gets no love. I wish people would appreciate dark skin. have you noticed that the beauty standards in several countries around the world is to have white skin or something similar? It’s especially like that in Asian countries. I will never understand why people insist on becoming white instead of being happy with who they were born to be.
The point is, Blacks are not the only people living in these conditions, these ghetto neighborhoods, so you shouldn’t let that, or someone else’s beauty standards whether mainstream or not, cloud your judgement of how beautiful dark skin tones are.
btw, in my opinion, dark skin women are prettier than light skinned women. The only reason why many people might not think so is because of the ghetto culture and the mainstream which associates dark skin tones, mainly Blacks, with rundown neighborhoods, poor education, and all this other stuff. It’s not always like that. Black people, and other people with dark skin tones, are gorgeous! And you may have to look for it sometimes because we are living in a violent sex filled world.

@gbabby96 For me it’s just the opposite. I think ebony is beautiful regardless, but for some reason it’s the darker skin that really draws my attention the most. It’s like my brain is rigged to read “dark” as “intense”, and it gets a kick out of it. I absolutely love dark skin and dark hair in any woman.
I’ve seen a lot of beautiful women with dark skin tones all over the world yet I haven’t seen the rare beautiful woman with skin dark enough to match (or be darker than) new black clothes sold in department stores. To me, a woman with skin matching new black clothes is the ultimate beautiful dark-skinned woman.
